Q How big is one donum of land?
A 1 Donum of land is 1/3rd of an acre, 1338 M2
Q How much land can I own in North Cyprus?
A One person is only allowed to buy 1 donum of land although it is possible to purchase more if you form a company.
Q If I wish to purchase a house in North Cyprus what documents do I require?
A The only document required is a valid passport.
Q Can I buy a property without visiting North Cyprus?
A This is a simple process and our office staff will be able to lead you through the process.
Q Can I use a U.K. solicitor?
A You must use a North Cyprus based solicitor, our company have contact with some very good English speaking solicitors, however if you wish to choose one of your own, we will be more than happy to e mail you a copy of all solicitors based here in Northern Cyprus.
Q What will I be charged by a solicitor when purchasing a property?
A The normal charge is around £1,000
Q If I purchase a property in North Cyprus do I need to make a new will?
A You must have a will that is made here in North Cyprus your solicitor will more than happy to advise you on this.
Q Once I have purchased a home in North Cyprus who will look after it for me.
A GPE run a property management company and will be happy to tailor make a package that will suit the individual customer.
Q How long can I stay in North Cyprus?
A Upon entry to North Cyprus a visitor is issued with a 3 month visa, which can be extended whilst in the North.
Q What do I do if I want to stay longer?
A GPE will be happy to introduce you to a retired police officer who will assist you with an application for a residents permit.
Q If I decide to sell my property and return to the U.K. will I be liable for tax?
A At present your sale of your first house is tax free with no restrictions on repatriation.
