Sound and television programmes in mostly in Turkish and English and some Greek, subtitled films showing in Cyprus. The Forces Broadcasting Service also available in all districts. Programmes are advertised in the local daily newspapers.There are 'night-spots' in all the towns. Dancing and floor shows take place out of doors during the summer months. European and American films are shown in the towns cinemas in North Cyprus and South Cyprus. Much time is spent on 'trie trac', a form of backgammon, and various card games while drinking coffee or wine. Turkish, Greek and Shakespearian drama and concerts are performed in the ancient outdoor theatres at Nicosia, Curium and Soli. The mountain ranges provide interesting walking country. Water skiing, underwater sports, etc., at the main seaside resorts, where equipment may be hired. Regattas and games organized by Famagusta Nautical Club January-March, November-December, and swimming and speedboat competitions April-October.
