A minaret and windows pierced at ground level have been, added to the original Gothic design of two vaulted bays and a three-sided apse built in the late fourteenth century. Above the sacristy to the north of the apse there is a room rising to the height of the church, and believed to have been intended as the lower structure of a tower which was never built. Those carvings in the church which have not been mutilated as a result of its conversion to Muslim use are of great interest. Gothic survivals in Cyprus are few, due to the special aversion the conquering Turks held for the Latin rite.
